Sunnyside is partnering with the CSPD Victims’ Advocacy Unit. ‘Blessing Bags’ will be given to children who are removed from their homes after a criminal and/or violent situation has occurred. These will be the first thing children receive when removed from their negative situation, so we want them to be comforting and a true representation of the ultimate Comforter! Please help us provide
- Socks for boys
- Small blankets
- Books/activity books
- Encouraging notes
For Children ages 5-12: Pajamas, socks, crayons, small blankets, encouraging notes, reading/coloring/activity books.
SCC provides weekly aid to homeless and underprivileged families by collecting toiletries (bar soap, toothpaste/brushes, deodorant and toilet paper). Donations may be placed in the bin located near the Information Center. If you have other non-perishable food or other items to donate, please take them to Crossfire Ministries (2120 E. LaSalle St.). CrossFire has a continuous need for volunteers. Call Crossfire (447-1806).
Our volunteers make 250-290 sandwiches every Sunday and take them to the Salvation Army Homeless Shelter on Sundays.
Help provide a meal for those who are just home from the hospital; serve and/or provide food at funeral dinners when needed.
Help pick up/drop off those needing transportation to/from Sunday worship services on rotation basis.
